At long last, A Christmas Story is open! We had a great first show yesterday. The audience seemed to go along with us. We just had our first student matinee today. The version we do for students is different. We have to cut it down to 90 minutes to jibe with their bus schedule. We got the cuts 1 hour before showtime! They were logical, though, and the show went without a hitch.
Monday was a day off. I played fiddle for the old folks in Front Royal in the morning, puttered around for the day, then went to the Actors’ Equity meeting in DC. Saw a lot of folks from Wayside there. It was like old home week.
Now that the show is up, I’ll restart the book I’ve been reading, A Short History of Progress by Ronald Wright. A thoughtful book about impending doom.
