Today, I had the new-to-me car cleaned. I think the previous owner must have been a smoker with children that enjoyed sneezing food.
But that’s not my story. The detailers were in a very mall-centric area of town. An area that was meant for cars. Did you ever try to walk any great distance in one of those clusters? I had 3-hours of being a pedestrian there on the autobahn, and I felt very, very small.
It occured to me that this could be the springboard for some sharp social commentary on status, distance from nature and an oil-centric society. But ultimately I just had a clean car and went to work.
