A Christmas Carol – The Costumer Is Always Right

We continue to make amazing progress with our production of A Christmas Carol. Yesterday we did two full dress-rehearsals – one for each cast.  For some of us, it was the first time we were in costume.

The costumes for this show are simply magnificent.  Each major scene seems to have a certain flavor to it.  When we are in the streets of London, the palette is brown and the texture is earthy.  The memory of Christmas Past shimmers with vibrant color and eccentric patterns.  The ghost of Christmas Future is a dancer in a magnificent flowing black velvet cloak – almost a field of energy.

An amazing achievement from our costume staff of two!  They costumed 36 actors, each playing multiple characters.  Gah.
