An Elvis Birthday Dinner

This weekend I’ll be singing with Clay Arthur and his band for an Elvis Presley birthday celebration dinner at Woodstock Cafe and Shoppes.

This show was a great success last year.  The dinner was outstanding and everyone seemed to love the music.  Our show focused on Elvis’ years at Sun Records.  You know, skinny Elvis.

We just had a rehearsal yesterday and the band sounds great.  We’ve all been doing music together in various combinations for years, so the group is really tight.

I’m having a great time singing backup with the band.  A backup singer only has to learn three lyrics:

  • ahhhhhhh
  • doo and
  • wop.

It’s a sweet job.

We’ll be performing January 9 & 10, 2009.  There may be a few tickets left, so if you’re in the area check it out.  And if the music isn’t enough to tempt you, they’ll be serving peanut butter & banana sandwiches for desert.

I am so there.
