A little later this morning I’ll be going out to play music with my friend Casey. He gets me out playing for the Senior Centers around town.
Our music is usually pretty rough around the edges, but I don’t think it matters too much. The important thing is that we’re there and we’re giving out a little fun. That can be in short supply for older people.
Music seems to be the best thing. You don’t need to remember words to remember a tune. Music cuts through the fog.
I never feel more useful as a musician, or as a human being for that matter, than when I’m playing for the Seniors.
